Juan Luna

JUAN LUNA

Juan Luna (October 23, 1857 — December 7, 1899) was an Ilocano Filipino painter, sculptor and a political activist of the Philippine Revolution during the late 19th century. He became one of the first recognized Philippine artists.
His winning the gold medal in the 1884 Madrid Exposition of Fine Arts, along with the silver win of fellow Filipino painter Félix Resurrección Hidalgo, prompted a celebration which was a major highlight in the memoirs of members of the Propaganda Movement, with the fellow Ilustradostoasting to the two painters' good health and citing their win as evidence that Filipinos and Spaniards were equals.
Regarded for work done in the manner of the Spanish and French academies of his time, Luna painted literary and historical scenes, some with an underscore of political commentary. His allegorical works were inspired with classical balance, and often showed figures in theatrical poses.( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Luna)

PAINTINGS

I. The Death of Cleopatra (1881)

II. The Parisian Life (1882)

III. Spolarium (1884)

IV. The Blood Compact – “El Pacto de Sangre” (1884)

Juan Luna inspired me in the area of painting. An intelligent and creative artist. It motivates me to develop my skill more in the area of painting. It will be a great hope that hundred years from now people will also remember my name as an ARTIST.

Father's Hands

All faith begins with this fundamental truth: that God is the creator of all things. Everything that we have comes from God. Everything that we have was once nothing, and was called out of nothingness into being. Everything owes its existence to God. This truth is at the heart of all things. (Gen. 1:1-5)

The Artistic creation is God’s nature. The art of creating the world and the heavens was an act of absolute creative intelligent design: pre-planned, loving, and timed for perfection. Every color, shape, and form was thought through and pre-established.

This was the start of an incredible story of God’s creative concern with His art. To top these all, His masterpiece is MAN, formed in the image of God. That's YOU.

Art Communicates

Art is a conscious use of skill and imagination in creating specific desired object. It involves emotion and skill to stress technical knowledge and proficiency. Every artist should know how to communicate with their masterwork in order to connect or relay the message appropriately.

That stage masterwork was prepared for the True Love Waits Concert (Valentine’s Day Special) last February 2010. I was able to conceptualize this masterwork in an imaginative way to relate with the theme, connect and relay the message. Try to look at the photo and think over the message of that masterwork.

EXPRESS ART

This photo was taken 10:21PM at Dunkin Donuts while drinking with "Icy Choco." Thinking is powerful in exploring something. In art, we need to think in order to conceptualize the desired plan. The beauty of art is that it can be expressed in many ways. When we think over our daily activities sometimes we don’t notice that we are doing patterns of art. Talking about patterns, there are certain activities that we do relate with arts like organizing, management, decoration and others. Because of these, we could say that anyone is capable of expressing art.
